Little things that matter

Hey Everyone,

I was reading an article early morning which stated that we at times under estimate the influence of little things in life. What a powerful statement it was, that I planned to jot down few of them for you. While we are busy accomplishing our goals in this competitive world, we tend to overlook these small little things of happiness. Hope you like reading and start appreciating what you would have missed so far.

New Year Celebration @ Taj Mahal Agra

Hey Everyone... Wishing you all a very happy and a fabulous New Year.

This New year we decided to celebrate at Taj Mahal, the monument of love and one of the seven wonders of the world. Started our journey from Delhi, Agra stands at approx 216 kms and the drive via the Taj expressway(Yamuna expressway) is beyond words. Amazing views and an excellent infra, makes it worth. There are 3 toll plaza's on the way and it would charge you 415 one way and 695 for return within 24 hours. We had a superb drive and reached ManSingh Palace.

Freshened up and left to see the beauty of Taj. Since it was a weekend and of course the new year eve, there was a maddening crowd. Took a battery van to the entry gate and we could see a 3 km long queue for the entrance. Drenched with sweat (in December ;)), we had won the battle and made our dashing entrance to this monument in one and half hour. Anxiously walking from the west gate, the moment I turned, very first glimpse of Taj Mahal made me utter .. Waah Taj. What a spectacular view it was. I kept staring at its beauty for quite long, soaking in the amazing architecture, carvings and the paintings on its walls and minarets. We clicked couple of pictures with this beauty and made an inside visit as well. Yamuna was definitely at low water levels which is flowing right behind the Taj. We came back to our hotel at 7PM. It was a great experience in all.

Entry Fees - Indians - Rs 40, Foreigners - Rs 2000
Tickets can be purchased online as well and you can save one additional queue. :P

One of the minarets and the right side of the Taj Mahal was under renovation by the ASI in order to preserve the monument.
